Amy & Romain

Château de Gilly, Dijon

Wedding at the Château de Gilly in Burgundy

The bride and groom

For their wedding, Amy and Romain chose the Château de Gilly, near Lyon.

Indeed, it was in Burgundy wine country that they were married, in the company of family and friends from around the world. Amy is originally from New Zealand, where they have just moved. Amy and Romain met in France, where she had come to work.

The wedding day began with breakfast with the bride and groom. The whole day was spent at Château de Gilly, not far from the vineyards, where we took a few couple photos.

The preparations

The bride

Preparations began at Gilly's castle with his witnesses. The bridesmaids and groom uncorked champagne to celebrate the beautiful day.

The room was magnificent, I took the opportunity to take some original pictures with the lights.

The groom

Romain, accompanied by his childhood best friend and best man, got ready in the groom's bedroom.

We learned how to tie a knot. Thanks google!

The wallpaper almost made me epileptic. Once the photos of the preparations were finished, the two sportsmen headed for a room in the chateau for Amy's discovery.

The ceremony

The discovery

Romain was then eager to discover his sweetheart during a First Look session in the restaurant's dining room. Away from the prying eyes of the guests. The bride and groom were deeply moved. This moment of discovery is always a real pleasure to experience and to photograph. That's why I recommend it to all my brides and grooms. Afterwards, we took advantage of a moment of calm to slip away into the vineyards for some couple photos. These were not in front of Château de Gilly, but in front of another estate near Dijon.

Lay ceremony

It was then that everyone headed to the park of Gilly's castle, to celebrate the union of the two lovers in a secular ceremony.

Indeed, they had already celebrated their union in the town hall some time before.

It was in the shade of a gigantic tree that the ceremony took place. The parents' speeches were very moving.

Château de Gilly: the evening

Wedding meals and entertainment

The Château de Gilly in Dijon is an exceptional place to celebrate a wedding. Thus, it was in the outdoor courtyard of the latter that the cocktail party was held.

After a few drinks to cool off, the bride and groom and I went to take some couple photos.

We had already had a nice couple session in the vineyards near Dijon.

It's a first for me to be a wedding photographer in Dijon.

The first dance and the evening

The evening at the chateau was absolutely crazy. It began with touching speeches from Dad. Followed at the end of the meal by the bride and groom's first dance.

Immediately afterwards, Romain's grandmother threw herself into his arms. It was an absolutely unforgettable moment, for them and for me.

Afterwards, the evening took a sharp turn towards joyous madness, led by the groom and his buddies. A front-of-house show to entertain and fire up the dance floor.

Thank you both for choosing me as your wedding photographer in Dijon. It was an exceptional day! Congratulations to both of you!

Take a look at some of their wedding photos.
