Marina & Antony

Wedding photographer Puy-de-Dôme: a day of intense emotions

Marina and Antony said yes to each other in the heart of the Puy-de-Dôme, surrounded by their loved ones, in a place that is both elegant and warm the Château de la Canièrein Thuret. Between the preparations in the château's bedrooms, a civil ceremony in Saint-Bonnet-près-Riom, an emotional church, and an evening with braziers and a fiery dance floor, their day had everything it took to make a lasting impression. And that's exactly what I like to document: lively, real days, where you can capture beautiful emotions. And believe me, it was an emotional day!

Behind the scenes of a wedding at the château - Puy-de-Dôme

Two atmospheres, two preparations

The day began in the château's bedrooms, each of them on their own. Marina was getting ready in the bridal suite, surrounded by her mother, friends and witnesses. She was having her hair and make-up done, sitting in front of a mirror, bathed in the soft late-morning light. All around her, exchanges were calm, glances discreet, gestures thoughtful. A intimate, simple, real atmosphere.

On the other side of the castle, Antony was getting ready with their 8-year-old sonhis father and a few close friends. In this other, rougher room, light streamed in through the large windows. A bathtub took pride of place in the center, a mirror was used to adjust the final details, and a flask of rum was passed around. There was laughter and serious preparation, but no pressure. Everyone took their time.

Discovery in the château's suspended gallery

Wedding photographer in the Puy-de-Dôme in many years, I've rarely seen so much emotion. The bride and groom met on the upper floor of the château, in the circular gallery overlooking the main hall with a view of the glass dome at the very top. Indeed, it's a strong, graphic place, with a beautiful light.

When Marina appeared, Antony couldn't hold back his tears. He hugged her, overwhelmed. Then, when his mother arrived shortly afterwards, the emotion rose again. Moments like that, caught on the spot, tell much more than a simple portrait.

Village weddings: town hall, church and bubble party

A civil ceremony in Saint-Bonnet-près-Riom

In the early afternoon, everyone gathered at the Saint-Bonnet-près-Riom town hall. Even before the ceremony began, the arrival of the bride and groom was marked by the deafening noise of big bikes lined up in front of the town hall: a magnificent Mustang, a red Porsche and a BMW let their engines roar, attracting all eyes in the village.

Visit civil ceremony began at 3:30 pm, conducted with simplicity, smiles and discreet glances from the guests waiting to hear what was to come.

Religious ceremony at Saint-Bonnet-Près-Riom church

After the town hall, the procession walked to the village church. The atmosphere was more solemn, but not staid. Their son brought the wedding rings, focused and proud. That gesture alone, summed up a lot about this family.

The religious ceremony concluded with a Antony's mother's very personal speechShe was quickly overwhelmed by emotion. Her voice trembled, the words came from her heart. The whole assembly was moved.

As guests filed out of the church to gather outside for the bride and groom's exit, we took the opportunity to make a few couple photos in the nave. The church was empty, silent, bathed in soft light. A lovely setting for a short break for twoWe're sure you'll agree that it's a good idea to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the day, before returning to the joyful bustle of your family and friends.

Then the doors opened. Outside, friends and family awaited Marina and Antony with bubbles, laughter and applause. A simple and natural transition, in the rhythm of the day, as I like to photograph them as a photographer. wedding photographer in Puy-de-Dôme Without freezing anything, just being in the right place at the right time.

Group photos, mirror and golden light

The return journey to Château de la Canière was a leisurely one, in keeping with the natural rhythm of the day. Once there, after a few group photos in the courtyardThe vin d'honneur was held at the rear of the estate, in the heart of the park. Between the statues, the fountain, the exchange of glasses and the laughter of the children playing around the bouncy castle, the atmosphere was very pleasant. relaxed, lively - typical of Auvergne weddings.

A little later, a photo made a particular impression on the guests: on the steps of the château, friends were holding at arm's length a large mirror reflecting the couple in front of them. A simple moment, strong visually, and perfectly in the spirit of my documentary approach to wedding photography.

Immediately afterwards, we took a moment for a short couple session in the park - in the soft late afternoon light, before the bride's bouquet toss. A natural transition, without forced pausethe way I like it when I make a wedding photography in the Puy-de-Dôme.

A festive entrance to the hall

At 8.30pm, the doors to the hall open. The bride and groom make their entrance. From the first notes of "La Bamba", the guests dance, sing and clap their hands. The party starts even before the first course.

Everyone then settles in for lunch, served by the caterer Maison Supiot from Sainte-Florinewho had already delighted everyone with his brazier during the cocktail party. Grilled meats, generous dishes, friendly atmosphere - everything was just right.

The meal is punctuated by speeches. The witnesses speak. Then other relatives. And above all, the groom's sister. Indeed, her speech was the highlight of the evening. She spoke simply, with emotion. No big words, just the right words. Marina and Antony couldn't hold back their tears. And no one in the room escaped unscathed.

What's more, it's these moments that I want to document. Without interfering, without directing. To be there when something happens. This is my job: tell people, not pose them.
