Clermont-Ferrand: Caroline and Virgile say yes at Town Hall

Summary

Caroline and Virgile said yes for life at their wedding in the heart of the Auvergne.

The day began in style with preparations at Château de Miremont.a 14th-century château nestling in a green setting.

Afterwards, the civil wedding took place at a emotional ceremony at Clermont-Ferrand town hall. The procession then moved through the streets of the town, passing in front of the sublime Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Cathedral.

Then it was off to the Château for lunch. Then, in the late afternoon, a wild secular ceremony awaited them in the château grounds.

The setting sun set a dreamy mood at the end of the ceremony, and Caroline and Virgile danced the night away with their loved ones to celebrate their union.

1. The bride and groom's preparations before the town hall

The bride gets ready in the castle tower

Château de Miremont comes alive for Caroline and Virgile's wedding. From the moment I arrive at 08:00, I'm immersed in the warm, emotional atmosphere.

Before Caroline dons her wedding dress, I capture the details that make this wedding unique: the hanging floral dress, the elegantly written invitations, the delicately arranged accessories. Each element tells a story, reflecting the couple's refined taste.

Visit photo report takes place in the château tower, where Caroline gets ready surrounded by her nearest and dearest. The bride's brother is very attentive, bringing her a few slices of toast to keep her going before this marathon day.

Once the bride's hair is done, it's Caroline's turn for make-up. Smiles, tender glances and whispers of advice create an intimate and moving atmosphere.

The groom in the grand salon

Meanwhile, Virgil, accompanied by his best man, prepares to go downstairs to the main salon.

The atmosphere is calmer and more solemn, reflecting the weight of the commitment ahead. I take a few shots of Virgil in front of the imposing period armor that hangs in the room, adding a touch of history to this very special moment.

His bespoke suit, made by a Clermont-Ferrand couturier, is just gorgeous.

Preparations complete, the bridal procession heads for the Clermont-Ferrand Town Hall for the wedding with the civil ceremony.

2. Wedding at Clermont-Ferrand Town Hall

The ceremony

Clermont-Ferrand, Saturday - It was under a radiant sky that Caroline and Virgile were united for life, at a special wedding ceremony at Clermont-Ferrand Town Hall. On this particular day, the town hall was hosting several weddings, and luckily for our happy couple, they were the last of the morning. This was a definite advantage, allowing them to take full advantage of such an important moment, without the pressure of timing and the impatient public waiting in the wings.

An intimate, humorous ceremony

Located right next to the majestic cathedral, Clermont-Ferrand town hall provided the perfect setting for this intimate ceremony.

After a short wait in front of the wedding hall for the previous wedding to finish, it was Caroline and Virgile's turn to make their entrance. Virgile, visibly moved, led the way, eagerly awaiting the arrival of his bride-to-be.

The mayor's deputy, with her kindness and humor, officiated the ceremony, making this solemn moment both light-hearted and touching. The exchange of best wishes moved their loved ones.

A photo report on the streets of Clermont-Ferrand

Once the ceremony was over, I had the pleasure of continuing to immortalize this beautiful day by following the bridal procession through the picturesque streets of Clermont-Ferrand. It was a sunny stroll that allowed me to capture some lovely photos in this maze of streets.

3. Refined reception and secular celebration at the château

A gourmet feast orchestrated by caterer Montrognon

Caroline and Virgile's wedding festivities continued in the early afternoon in the magnificent hall of Château de Miremont. An exceptional meal, concocted by the talented caterer Montrognon from Clermont-Ferrand, awaited the guests.

Around elegantly laid tables, guests enjoyed delicious dishes.

Moments of intense emotion punctuated the meal. Slide shows retracing the couple's history were projected onto a large screen, provoking laughter and tears of joy from the bride and groom and their loved ones. These precious moments allowed guests to get to know Caroline and Virgile better, discover their background and share their happiness.

For a wedding photographer, these slideshows are always magical moments. They capture unique, touching images of the bride and groom embracing their loved ones.

In addition to the emotional aspect, slideshows also enable the photographer to get to know the couple and their history better.

Lay ceremony, couple photos and dance party

Around 5:00 pm, after the wedding cake and thanks from the bride and groom, the meal came to an end. A short digestive break allowed guests to prepare for the rest of the festivities.

Under the blue sky of Château de Miremont, a secular ceremony took place in the park below the château. Guests gathered around the bride and groom to listen to their loved ones recount their love story and share many amusing anecdotes.

Tears of happiness as the bride and groom embraced, surrounded by the magnificent backdrop. The simple, heartfelt ceremony touched every heart.

Back in the château courtyard, we took a few group photos before kicking off the cocktail party.

The cocktail, delicious and refined, was much appreciated by the guests. We took the opportunity to slip away for a couple's session.

The sun goes out very quickly as we're surrounded by hills, so we mustn't waste any time.

Nightfall, the music intensified and the dance floor came alive. The bride, groom and guests danced the night away.

I was hoping to photograph the bride and groom with the Northern Lights. But unfortunately, we didn't see these magnificent phenomena in the sky.

Caroline and Virgile's wedding at Clermont-Ferrand town hall and then at Château de Miremont was an emotional day that all guests will never forget.
