Emilie & Jérôme
Aurillac wedding photography at Lac des Graves
Wedding in Aurillac: summary
The bride and groom
After many years together and two gorgeous little boys, Emilie and Jérôme took the plunge. They chose to get married in the company of friends and family. And if not everyone is present, we know they're watching from where they are.
It's in those moments that touch our hearts that we realize the importance of our loved ones. So I hope my photos will touch them as much as the beautiful speeches of the day touched me. And that they will make anyone who looks at their photos experience, or relive, the love and tenderness that reigned that day.
Aurillac wedding photography: the preparations
Photos of the bride
It was an emotional day, but also a hot one. The day began at 9 a.m. at Robert's hairdresser in Aurillac. A much-appreciated moment of calm and freshness.
Then it's off to the family home for make-up and the writing of vows. Once all this had been photographed, I slipped away to photograph Jérôme.
Once Emilie was dressed in her bridal gown, the moment of discovery between the bride and groom finally arrived. Traditionally, this takes place at the town hall, but I strongly advise my brides and grooms to get to know each other beforehand. With no one present, it's a moment of intimacy that allows emotions to flow freely. Much to the photographer's delight.
Photos of the groom
Jérôme, accompanied by their children, his two witnesses (including his brother) and his dad, got dressed without stress at his super boyfriend's house (golden guys).
Unlike the girls, the guys' preparations are much faster. Which allowed me to rush back to photograph Emilie's dressing.
Aurillac wedding photography: the ceremony
The arrival of the bride and groom
Everyone gathered at the village hall to celebrate their civil union. At the exit, the newlyweds were cheered under a hedge of oval balloons. The rest of the day was spent at the Lac des Graves hotel-restaurant, not far from Aurillac and the Cantal peak (the highest point in the département).
The location of Lac des Graves is simply sublime. Surrounded by relief and greenery.
The ceremony took place on the shores of Lac des Graves under a blazing sun (from the Cantal ahah). The sand ceremony saw Emilie, Jérôme and their two children unite their vials of colored sand to symbolize their union.
Everyone applauded and gave the bride and groom a standing ovation. And even some tourists, during the ceremony, were howling to celebrate the union of the bride and groom and congratulate them even as they ziplined over Lac des Graves. Some might say it was because they were afraid of ziplining, but I prefer to think they were shouting their joy 🙂
Aurillac wedding photography: the evening
Strong emotions
Fortunately, we took 5 minutes to take couple's photos before finishing the group photos, because afterwards we didn't have a single minute for a couple's session before the sun disappeared behind the relief. It all happened very quickly. The evening of this beautiful wedding at the Hotel du Lac des Graves was both completely crazy, but also full of moments with strong emotions.
The first dance
With great surprise, the bride and groom began to dance in the middle of the hall. Suddenly, they were joined by guests. And in the end, we were treated to a great flashmob! It was huge!
With great emotion, the bride and groom performed their first dance in front of their nearest and dearest, and especially in front of their children, who will treasure their memories of this moment.
